Introduction to Autism Spectrum Disorders: Practical Applications (ASD)
The Introduction to Autism Spectrum Disorders - Practical Applications (ASD) is offered to BC teachers, paraprofessionals, and other educational staff and parents.
This newly revised course reflects current research and evidence-based practice in teaching students with ASD. In addition, research-based methods of effective adult instruction are now used in this course. These include pre-reading, practical hands-on activities, demonstration, coaching and application exercises as well as a variety of ways of evaluating participant learning. This 30 hour course is held at our training centre in Delta over a 5-day period, from 8:30 am–3:30 pm daily.

This training program is offered to BC School District personnel and parents throughout BC.
course tuition and administration fee
Employees of BC School Districts or Independent Schools following the BC Ministry of Education curriculum receive course tuition at no charge.
To waive tuition, the District Partner, District Administrator of Special Services, or School Principal must provide approval by signing a Tuition Waiver Form. Tuition fees for all other persons are in the amount of $300. A non-refundable administration fee is required for all POPARD courses. This fee covers a range of administrative, preparation, materials, and refreshment costs. Tuition and instructor costs are covered by POPARD and the Ministry of Education.
